We went to watch Quidam by Cirque du Soleil!! Yay! My first time at the circus and it was fabulous! Everything was utterly amazing! I’ve seen quidam on video before but watching it live is a whole different experience..it was breathtaking and awesome! All the aerials and stunts were fantabulous, u just dun want it to end. I want more!! Haha..this trip to the circus was possible cos our director, Julia moon went to watch it n absolutely loved it and she wanted all of us to go watch it too. So she bought the whole company tickets to go watch the circus! Yep that’s how filthy rich she and the company is…so I ain’t complaining cos I never got the chance to watch cirque du soleil whenever they went to Singapore. Missed saltibanco, allegria and quidam..so now I get to watch it in korea! Haha..it was just fantastic..everyone was cheering and clapping and shouting bravo. Loved the merchandise they were selling but they were so expensive as expected, but foo bought a nice long-sleeve shirt that was very him. Din get anything for myself cos I preferred the men’s t-shirts to the ladies and I shouldn’t splurge. But I got popcorn!! Have been missing it so much..i can always smell the popcorn whenever I pass a movie theatre here and will crave for it..so I finally had it today! Wasn’t as good as those at GV cos these were caramelised ones…but nonetheless..The Circus was beside the Olympic Stadium at Jamshil Sports Complex Subway Station. They constructed a tent next to it. I wished I had thought to bring along my camera. The olympic stadium was grand and the main baseball stadium was beside it. There was a baseball game going on n u could hear the singing n the cheering going on. Foo and I are considering going to a baseball game here just for the experience though we noe nothing of the game. Baseball was the number 1 sport here until the Korean soccer team got into the semi-finals in the previous world cup that was held in korea and japan and overtook baseball as the favourite sport. But still, baseball is hot here and it sure sounds like a lot of fun going to a game..so hopefully we’ll get the chance!
So tonight was good..a good start to my precious weekend. Gonna rest and relax tmr..cos we’re moving into theatre in Illsan on Tuesday already so we thought we’d better get some rest and not do anything too exciting cos we’ll be travelling n rehearsing everyday.

Itaewon!
We had dinner at this chinese restaurant called Ho Lee Chow! It's the first chinese restaurant that we've found that has real chinese food..not just lousy sweet and sour pork dish with rice..We had Hong Kong fried rice, mongolian beef, szechuan special..not in picture..spring rolls n soup each..not bad! I love food!

Spring is here! though it's still cold..sometimes it's between 6-8deg, sometimes it goes up to 15deg, just like today. It was a beautiful day today, bright and sunny so I just had to go out n take a walk. I see the leaves and flowers growing everyday when i walk to work and I just had to take pictures of them cos I find it so amusing right now. I've never seen mother nature at work like this backin sg cos the trees are always in full bloom all year round!
These are the flowers growing below my apartment..very nice! u noe i love flowers, couldn't resist looking like a tourist and taking photos.hee
I dunno if these are cherry blossoms but i think so..foo thinks so too..they line the streets here and they're a pretty common sight. See..we get to see sakura here too..haha! enjoy..

crazy week!
11th april
Hai..it’s Wednesday but it’s not even middle of the week for me yet..only after tmr then it’ll be..been a hellish 3 days.hai..so much to do! Damn..i’m almost in my pointe shoes the entire day..back to back rehearsals no break! Argh! Was wondering to foo why it hurts so much to be in pointe shoes just for a few hours back in sg..but can take it here with them on the whole day without taking them off..i’m serious from 12.30 all the way till 6..it’s not such unbearable pain..just tired plain fatigue in the muscles..but I guess standing around in pointe shoes makes it more painful than dancing on them..which is wat I did a lot in sdt.n it makes us hungry faster too..so when I’m here..there’s no such thing as lunch except on Sundays.but it’s ok I munch on biscuits n bread in the 2 minutes between rehearsals.
Damn..i’ve a performance on Friday morning at 11am! So work will start really early that day…cos we’ve class n then need time for make up and stuff..oh man..n I’m so stressed! I learnt everything myself and I only had ONE rehearsal today..JUST ONE!! And there were so many people picking on me.. not right angle, fingers not touching tutu.. not right everything!! Geez! every single minute detail…then tmr rehearsal on stage alr..then performance on fri morning! Ahhh….never felt so insecure n stressed and scared before..i’m still copying in the mirror now but geez why in the world did they put me in the first row!! Been watching video at home..even practiced in my room…NEVER been like this before in sg! Like foo said..we’ve been too spoilt in sg..we’ve got plenty of time to learn choreo and the whole company stops just to teach that single person who doesn’t know.but here…u noe u’re in it..u better find someone to teach u or borrow a video to learn urself n by the time it’s rehearsal u HAVE to noe it!!
14th april, Saturday!
Yay! My weekend has started! So happy when rehearsals ended today..hee..we had our first run thru of choon hyang today..so many quick changes for me, wah it’s gonna be real hectic during the show.anyway still dun really noe wat the story’s about just tat the guy n girl falls in love lor…the rest of the pple dunnow doing wat..hee..anyway the performance will be in illsan, bout an hour’s journey from seoul. Brian Yoo very kiasu..he’s making the whole company go down to the theatre 10 days before the actual show..they say it’s the first time it’s happened before that they move into theatre so early usually only one or two days before..anyway their technical crew so professional.always efficient and ready before we’re even there.no cock-ups so far since I’ve been here..yup so we move into theatre on 24th..but I think we’re not staying in illsan since it’s near..think we’ve to take the bus there again n come back to seoul at night..
Ok show on Friday went ok..was Friday the 13th..anyway ya not gonna talk bout it just glad it’s over. We had a blackout on Thursday..the power for the entire building went out.hee..i was ok surprisingly, cos I was watching drama serials on my laptop when it happened then the lights just went out but my laptop ran on bat..so I just continued watching in the dark.was wondering if the previous pple din pay the bills or wat but when I opened my door the corridor was all dark so I knew it was the entire building. Foo had gone out to technomart for dinner so I din go looking for him..but anyway when he came back he came to my room..haha with a very funny story..n I just have to share it.hee..it was late by the time he went to technomart n it was closed already but of course we din noe it closed so early a 8..it was bout 9 or 10 when he went..hee..so poor thing.but anyway the supermarket was open so he managed to buy stuff but no proper dinner except fastfood..then when he came back downstairs he saw the convenience store all dark was like..huh? why’s everything closed today? Hee..then he saw police car downstairs n he was like….din someone get killed in our building or wat? Haha…he saw the whole building all dark..then when he wanted to take the lift..it wasn’t working!!! So he had to climb 11 floors up with his groceries!!! Muahaha! Sorry foo…can’t help but find it funny. That was his exercise for the day anyway cos the lucky chap had so many days during the week that he had no rehearsals..so he din have to go at all..yup was an interesting experience.but I went to bed early that night too cos I had to wake up birght ant early at 7am the next day cos of the 11am perf…n the next day when I asked Julie( the reahearsal lady who lives next door to me) bout the black out she was like oh it was on the notice at the lift lobby…aiyah we saw the notice but in Korean how we noe right?! I knew something was up on 12th april from 10-12 but I thought in the morning wat..something like lift maintenance or wat..how I noe shut down power at night..chey…
So I’ve been eating a lot..as in really alot..maybe cos we dun eat lunch during work..but after work thes past 2 days foo and I will have 2 meals back to back..like yesterday we had jap meal after work then we din feel full we went to have pizzas again and the ice cream..then today we went techno mart after work for dinner..we went to food court we both ordered and ate..after first round still not enough went to order again..i had chicken curry rice first round then I had fried seafood rice with egg omelette right after..he had rice with beef stew then zha jiang mian with sweet n sour pork second round..haha! 2 big eaters..he told me he never thought I could eat so much before but he’s really seen how much I can eat here in korea..we’re bad influence on each other cos we enjoy eating so much so we spend so much on food..cant imagine going to eat with pple who dun eat..so painful.they’ll watch me eat all the time n wait for me..aiyoh..how to enjoy eating like that..so paiseh make them wait..then sure cant eat my fill then not satisfied at all..*chuckle* I finally understand why some pple put on weight when they go overseas..cos when i have nothing to do i just keep eating..it’s true! The mouth never gets to rest..when I’m watching tv, on internet..watching shows on pc or just reading..i just snack. There used to be so much cookies n stuff back home in sg but I never touched them n they just reach the expiry date untouched..but here..i eat so much cookies, fruits, yoghurt, jelly bread cereal all the time..then of course very fast run out n have to go buy again..hai…so now i noe..thank goodness I’m born lucky, I dun get fat..hee sorry guys..but I’m working out all day mah

No good friday for me...
7th April
Wow..today’s Saturday but it feels like I’ve had a super long week though I only had 4days of work, having had Monday and Tuesday off..had a lot of rehearsals this week. Rehearsals have been back to back almost with no break..some days I finish class and I rehearse non stop from 12.30 all the way till bout 4..hai cos our company have 4 rehearsal studios. Rehearsing ‘carnival of the animals’ too at the same time, I’m a mermaid..thankfully not a horse or lion or monkey or whatever else they have..so I get to look pretty. There’s dancing of course..then I also have to learn the dying swan solo which I’ve to perform in june right after my holiday.yikes! but it’s nice..really getting into the hang of the swan style now..have to perform swans in swan lake again coming Friday in Brunch Ballet performance at Universal Arts Centre..
Yup so it’s been busy and tiring..i went to watch a performance by the National Dance Company at the National Theatre of korea last night..it’s on the hill beside the hill that Seoul Tower is on..very nice grand theatre. We were ‘recommended’ by juila moon to go watch and she bought tickets for the whole company so ya we were ‘encouraged’ to go watch cos it was supposed to be good..it was a collaborationg with a foreign music jazz banc saltacello, and the music was fantastic..if u close ur eyes u would think u were in a jazz concert..the dancing was modern with traditional Korean dancing..there was a story but of course I din now wat was going on..i slept for the slow drama bits but when the music became more upbeat with the group dancing I watched..was good and interesting..think it was very clever choreography to incorporate traditional dancing with the jazz music..but was too tired to appreciate it..sucks that after working hours u still have to be stuck with ur company members all around u to watch performance…the whole block of us were from UBC. Took an hour and half car ride to get home..cos of stupid Korean traffic.
That’s about it..wished we had good Friday and easter holiday here too..so many churches here but they dun have a holiday.hai..shall have a very good day off tomorrow to rest before the next 6 days come again..foo and I ate so much at mr pizza’s today..was expensive but good enough.not as good as pizza hut though..pizza I had in germany was still the best

Sunday! the only day i get to sleep in and make myself a better breakfast cos i've all the time in the world..then in the evening after mr foo has woken up we went to explore technomart.it's a huge electrical mall nearby..it's got 9 storeys all selling electrical stuff..there were so many things that both of us got tired of looking just after 2 storeys.the lights were way too bright! there's a cinema upstairs but the shows we wanted to watch weren't showing there..it's quite weird in korea.different cinemas show different movies and it's much slower here than in singapore.then there's 2 floors selling clothes, lotte supermarket at the basement and then there's a huge food court! we were delighted at the sight of so much food.haha..food is our first priority all the time..anyway the food we each got was good so i think we're gonna go there more often now to eat..since we can take the free shuttle from our place to go there and it's so near..yay!
alrighty..gotta gear myself for the coming week..6 full days! yikes!

One of the happiest days in Korea-Day off in Myong Dong!
My new converse shoes!! haha...sorry spent money so fast alr..but i really need them.i've no shoes!!2nd April
I had such a wonderful day in Myong Dong today! We have 2 days off after the swan lake performances in Osan cos we worked 7 days straight and last week we din have day off after the Anyang perf..yup..so foo and I decided to go to Myong Dong! We checked the tour2korea website and they have the entire subway system and they recommend all the good food places near every subway station…there were so many good restaurants in myong dong we just had to go..been looking so forward to it and I’m glad it din let us down..
We went to meet the Chinese guy Wang Yujia before we went cos we had to send him off…he’s going back to china, leaving the company cos he doesn’t like korea still though he’s been here since last autumn..still hasn’t gotten usedto kimchiland and anyway he hadn’t finished school in china so he wanna finish all hie exams first..yup though we’ve only known each other for about a month we’ve been good frens..really nice chap..one of the most earnes and hard-working Chinese boys I’ve met..really puts his heart into dancing and gives hundred percent..can see it so evidently which is usually quite rare in Chinese biys..haha..as I’ve grown accustomed to…n when he gets scolded he gets so upset over it n works so hard the next time…really nice guy.great sense of humour always makes us laugh when we go for dinner..hai gonna miss him..gonna have one less person to talk to in the company..think foo will miss him even more cos they were the only Chinese boys so they talked a lot together..now foo wun have another Chinese boy to talk to..yup so said our goodbyes..he was so teary-eyed but I noe he really wanted to go back yup…so all the best to him…a new fren gone so fast…
Anyway, back to the main highlight..yup we had lunch at the famous fried chicken place in Myong dong. We each had the fried chicken set and we shared the entire ginseng chicken..very good! Chicken was good…hey foo can vouch for me if u dun believe me k..i ate my lettuce salad.he even asked why I kept eating the salad when I said I dun eat grass..see I’m getting really good with grass..the ginseng chicken was good..the soup was nice loved the glutinous nice in it…yum..
Then we went shopping of course to digest our lunch to make way for another good meal later on..walked the entire area.haha..we had krispy kremes too..now they changed the system of giving out free..u have to buy something then they insert one free original donut into ur bag..if u dun buy u dun get free...still tastes as good.yumyum…hee..we saw quite a lot of stuff that we liked a lot..hai but cannot buy…esp foo..he’s aiming already.wonder how long he can tahan..well I couldn’t..haha I bought a pair of converse shoes..well that’s becos I’ve no more shoes to wear here..my shoes are all breaking down on me and it’s still too cold to wear slippers out so..not very ex lah..bout 37USD..yup..n foo was the best salesman..i even asked him how much money the shop was paying him to sell the shoes to me..cos he was listing all the reasons why I should buy it..comparing other designs that I chose and picking out the nicest..haha..he was brilliant as a salesman..that could be his second job..and before we went shopping I was apprehensive and he said he would stop me from spending money..and then?!? Anyway..buy already…and I like my shoes a lot too..so ain’t gonna complain anymore.wat’s done is done..gotta save the rest of month then..
So dinner…was very good! We went to this shop called Ming Dong Jiao Zi. Very famous…the dumplings were the best we’ve tried in korea though of course not as good as those from crystal jade but still good enough..better than those horrible ones foo bought supermarket the other day..haha..then we also had the dao-xiao mian..but according to him that’s not the Chinese version..cos this one’s with soup..chinese version is dry and the noodles were well..noodles…but real one should be pieces..somethine like that..but the broth was nevertheless good..we were so full gosh..haha..i’m happy.i can put on weight like that..he’s put on weight alr cos he’s injured so he hasn’t been exercising..hahaha! yup so today’s been one of the happiest we’ve had since we came to kimchiland..ohoh..we spent such a long time in watson’s here!! Something familiar at least..so I’m gonna head there once in awhile to get whatever I need..another day off tmr..yay! have to cherish it…cos it’s no more rest after..hai..but not thinking of that yet..
